Ten museums and collections from Basel, Bern, Burgdorf, Lugano, Neuchâtel, St.Gallen, Winterthur and Zurich are represented in the Museum Commission SEG/SSE. Regular exchange of information on collections, networks, photo databases and cultural property transfer. During reciprocal visits, exhibition projects are viewed together.
At the annual conference on 25.11.2011 at the Völkerkunde Museum Zurich, a round table entitled: "Ethnological Museums and Collections in Switzerland: Where to go? Positions of museum directors and heads of collections" took place: The Musée d'Ethnographie Génève was able to present its new building project, the Museum Rietberg Zurich was able to provide information on a cooperation project and the Ethnological Museum Burgdorf pointed out its problems with the storage of its collections.
