Universität Luzern, Ethnologisches Seminar

Research Kolloquium, Spring Semester 2021

Julia Rehsmann (University of Bern)

In this talk I explore the role anticipation plays in the context of transplant medicine and palliative care. Drawing on current fieldwork on end-of-life care in Switzerland and research on liver transplants in Germany, I ask how practices of, and decisions over, treatment and care are bound up with anticipated futures and biomedical potentialities.
