For almoste thirty years, the Bulletin of the SSMEIC was mailed to all members twice a year, each time offering between three and ten short articles written by researchers on a specific topic. Sometimes journalists and other persons concerned also contributed to the Bulletin. The flexible form of publication allowed for a variety of perspectives on the topics covered: interviews alternating with purely scientific articles, book reviews with portraits and conference reviews. All issues were proofread by the editorial board, as were the translations of the articles into French and German. The SSMEIC's desire to publish in different languages led the editorial board to write editorials in German, French and Italian. In 2016, the committee opted for an improved layout, in colour and with better printing and paper quality, which was maintained until the transformation of the Bulletin into the Almanach.
