Before the end of the year the second newsletter of our Society will appear. As usual, contributions are published under the headings Research, Conferences, Exhibitions Publications, Portraits or Encounters and Varia.

Since 2010, the Centre for African Studies at the University of Basel has been in charge of the production of the newsletter. The editorial work has so far largely been carried out by the local team. We would like to distribute this work load more broadly and thus invite members of the society to get involved. Specifically, we are looking for 1-2 members for editing work in English, German, and French respectively.

The tasks comprise content review and editing both in terms of language and form. Interested members should have a solid command of the respective language (grammar, spelling, style) and be dedicated to systematics and detail. If need be, the team can call on third persons for the evaluation of content. If the editorial team wishes to meet regularly face-to-face, the Society can reimburse travel costs.
