The General Assembly is held in the framework with the conference Africa and the Academy in the 21st Century, co-organized by the Swiss Society for African Studies and the Centre for African Studies Basel.

After the Assembly the members are invited to attend the distinguished Carl Schlettwein Lecture presented by Prof Francis Nyamnjoh (UCT) on the topic Decolonising the Academy and a reception (apéro riche, c. 7:15pm to 8:30pm).

Please register for the General Assembly and, if applicable, the conference before 25 October 2019 via the online-form accessible via the conference website. The program of Friday afternoon from 4:30pm onward is free of charge. Members of the SSAS who wish to attend the Conference Africa and the Academy in the 21st Century profit from a discount.
