The general theme for the April 2024 to March 2025 cycle of the series of public events RECTO-VERSO is Freedom. The meaning of freedom is constantly being questioned, negotiated and instrumentalised. When are we free, what about our freedom and what does it mean to be free?
As a member institution of the SAGW/ASSH, the Swiss Association for African Studies is invited to reflect on the multi-layered meanings of freedom and to enter into dialogue with a broad audience.
We ask our members who are interested to submit a project outline for the attention of the Executive Board (by 31 December 2023 by email to sekretariat(at)sgas-ssea.ch). The Executive Board will review the submissions, make a selection if necessary and submit the corresponding application. The project outline (1-2 pages) should include the following points
- Title
- Topic
- Event format
- Speakers
- Venue
- Budget (the Academy can cover travel cost and accommodation, whereas fees and room hire are excluded)
