The journal «Cahiers de Littérature Orale» is calling for proposals on their issue “Am slam gram!” which is scheduled for 2026 (no. 99). The aim of the issue is to explore the evolution of the genre of slam poetry, to sketch out the various forms that slam-poetry takes around the world, anchoring itself in cultural spaces and hybridizing with pre-existing oral traditions. The journal is particularly interested in attempts to historicize slam poetry, reflections on the musicality of slam poetry and the political dimension of the invention of the genre. The journal encourages international and interdisciplinary approaches, combining the voices of researchers in anthropology, stylistics, linguistics, and sociolinguistics, ethnomusicology and cantology, the arts and history.
Articles may be written in French or English. Proposals should be sent before 15 April 2024.
