Science et jeunesse
The Stiftung Schweizer Jugend forscht (SJf) is a foundation that promotes young people's interest in research and science. To that end, various support programmes are offered for children, adolescents and young adults which encourage participants to pursue their interest and ideas independently.
The SSG/SSL supports the SJf with a special prize at the National Competition. The event takes place annually in April at a university in Switzerland. Around 100 high school and apprenticeship theses, as well as project papers are presented to a jury and the public and awarded prizes.

The Linguistics Olympiad
The Swiss Linguistics Olympiad aims to introduce young people to the fascinating world of linguistics. It offers young people who are fascinated by languages and logical thinking the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a national, as well as international competition.
Without any necessary prior knowledge, the successful participation in the first round gives access to a preparation day where participants are introduced to the basics of linguistics. The winners of the second, more difficult round then represent Switzerland at the International Linguistics Olympiad.
Our aim is to inspire young people to take up linguistics as a subject in the long term. You can find more information about the Swiss Linguistics Olympiad here.
